About Us
The vision of 212 Publishing is to be a gateway between the local worship pastor/worship leader and the Body of Christ. We believe that creative gifting is rooted in the local church, but should be heard throughout the world. The songs that God is writing on the hearts of His worship leaders deserve the opportunity to be heard everywhere the people of God gather to worship Him.
212 is a host of things; an experience, a new way of thinking, a new set of songs, and a new vision. Ultimately it is about the people of God experiencing transformation through worship.
212 - Real Worship. Real Change.
Meet Us
Doug Mathis: Worship Leader, Producer
Doug Mathis is the worship pastor at Victory Fellowship Church in Nashville, TN. Doug has always been musical, he sort of can’t help it as his mom taught music in Knoxville Public schools for over 30 years. Doug began his professional music career after graduating high school, working as the lead singer in several groups at Opryland USA. He has been leading worship and writing songs for more than twenty years.
Kelley Mathis: Executive Producer
Doug’s wife Kelley is the lead creative empowerer for 212 Publishing. She has an eclectic background, both in education and experience. Kelley is uniquely gifted to understand the running of a small business as well as a ministry. She has more than twenty years of experience in sales, marketing and ministry, including working with independent worship artists. Kelley’s role is to see that the business of ministry is done with excellence so that the excellence of ministry can come forth.
Criss Cheatham: Co-Producer, Drummer, Guitarist and overall fine tooth comb dude.
Criss turned his Belmont University music degree into a career, writing and singing professionally for over 15 years. Criss co-produced Let All The World Know, also contributing on drums and all in-studio lead guitar parts. Criss actually began his worship service back when he was just figuring out what he thought about Jesus. Being part of a 212 worship band allows the creative gift God placed in Criss to shine, so that the man could also find his place in God’s Kingdom.
Al Babyock: Keys, strings and engineering
Al has made a living around the Nashville music scene for many years, and thus is also our resident Chartologist (yes, we’ve coined the term and have submitted to Webster’s, just awaiting the reply)! Al has extraordinary gifts as well as an incredible servant’s heart. Often he can be found with one hand on the keys and a guitar around his neck, just anticipating what crazy new thing might be asked of him during a service. Al is fluent in both the language of music and all that tech talk that makes most musicians dizzy.
Steve Price: Bass
Steve, aka SPtBP (Steve Price the Bass Player) can play just about anything, but considers himself a bass player. Steve is super-talented at anything with strings, pretty darn good at the rest and, as if the rest of us were not already jealous, also writes beautiful songs. Steve grew up in the home of a traveling musical evangelist. Rumor has it that he snuck in a banjo-playing relative on one of the tracks on this project!
Our Covering:
We believe that leaders must be lead as well. We are grateful to our Pastors, Bill & Linda McRay who, since the day we met, have supported God’s calling on our lives. Support means encouragement, correction, teaching and a platform to see God use what he has placed in us. We can never say thank you enough!
